Broward:
List of county park rental options: http://www.broward.org/parks/rentals.htm
Old Fort Lauderdale - historic buildings & outdoor area right on New River in Downtown
http://www.oldfortlauderdale.org/
Josephine S. Leiser Opera Center (also Downtown next to The Riverhouse restaurant, this is where my reception was & loved it!)
http://www.leisercenter.org/

In Dade:
Vizcaya http://www.vizcayamuseum.org/rentals-facility.asp
Parks (be sure to check out Deering Estate & the Seaquarium) http://www.miamidade.gov/parks/facility-directory_a.asp
Parrot Jungle http://www.parrotjungle.com/weddings.php

In Palm Beach:
Parks http://www.pbcgov.com/parks/
Morikami Gardens http://www.morikami.org/index.php?submenu=facility_rental&src=gendocs&ref=FacilityUseRental&category=Facility%20Rental

Additionally, check any hotels & restaurants along the beaches, yacht clubs too.

Vendors http://www.southfloridaweddingvendors.com/
TheKnot.com has a South Florida message board as well.

Good luck!

ADD: If you are on a tight budget, then you should really look at the county parks. Some of them have really incredible rental rates & offer great ammenities.

Well seen the location/weather of your location I would suggest going EXOTIC light colours(like pastels)..at first you won't like the idea of mixing so many colors but it will all work since it's a garden wedding its semi formal and your guests can wear really fresh dresses...also if you'd prefer to stick to one colour or "theme" you might wanna consider cherry blossom =)
