Making Wind Chimes

how to build a realistic fake tree?

I want to remodel my daughters room to make it look like an outdoor woodsy/garden with flowers and butterflies etc. and want to put one of those fake realistic looking trees on her wall like i have seen in magazines i just don’t exactly know what they are made off or how to even get started…i do know that they don’t look like they are made of paper(which makes sense since it is actual decor that will stay up) so if anyone could steer me in the right direction i would really appreciate it!…

Need flower ideas for my wedding!?

My wedding colors are fuchsia, champagne and white. I am on a budget and need some inexpensive beautiful flowers and decor ideas. I am having a outdoor wedding and would like a garden theme and also bring it into the decor at my reception (indoors) any ideas? My wedding will be in June 2010 in a shady grassy area with white folding chairs and a wicker basket type off white arch with white calla lilies and greenery intertwined in it (already on the arch when rented) but calla lilies are to expensive from what I’ve seen. need some help please!

Good looking, 55 yr. old VP of construction firm.

He has everything he needs or wants!

He drinks beer (only) and smokes cigars but only a certain kind (gift baskets with various types are not an option – I’ve tried).
He restored a car, but it’s perfected and nothing I could know is needed. (’57 Bel Aire)
He works with tools but owns every type – probably more than one, he’s already told me that.
He wears cologne, but can’t smell!
He’s a freemason, but I’ve exhausted all gifts that relate
He golfs, but has brand new clubs, bag, shoes, magazine subscr. He already stocks up on golf balls and tees.
He has a brand new computer, and doesn’t care for any other tech-related items.
He buys new clothes all the time and hates my taste (he’s a bit, um, unstylish)
He’s fun – but have jokingly bought him nerf guns, portable videogames and remote control cars in the past.
No hunting or fishing or bowling.
He loves food – but a "meat and potatoes" type of guy – one that already has Omaha steaks deliver all the time.
No sweet tooth.
Will not watch a movie twice, nor tv shows.
He gets gift cards from clients all the time.
No ties.
Renovating the house – well, hired help is
He gardens, but barely. Tomatoes and squash only, I think.
Likes jewelry, but his taste is not affordable.
Doesn’t care for sports – goes to some NFL games, but not a true "fan"
New wallet. His type of watches wouldn’t suit my budget.
He already has a stack of books he claims to be "getting a start on"
Mom deals with decor. Nothing like that would be of interest.
No work gear and he has a company car. GPS, cell phone and accessories are redundant.
Travels so much for work, he doesn’t care to go for pleasure. Travel items – luggage, travel pillows, etc. would never be used.
He’s practical.
We have a huge inground pool. Mom buys the fun stuff, and other people come to clean.
We have a game room – likes billards and darts – new balls, cues, chalk-holder even. Table was recently recovered and whole dartboard set-up is new.
Has an outdoor firepit – had two, gave me one- He already have me his old patio furniture that was from this summer, he didn’t like it.
He has all the music he cares for, I’ve tried to buy him some and he either already had it or didn’t care b /c he has satellite radio.
Would not be caught dead at a concert.
Does his own lawn, oddly enough. He has all the needs, like mower, leaf blower, weed eater, pesticides…

ANY other ideas? In reality he’s fun but honestly has all the necessities. Therefore, I need a unique gift that isn’t generic – but must be practical too. He’s not a fan of "gifting for the sake of gifting." Also, not religious.
I think all of you have given me some great ideas! Not sure which I’ll pick, but I’ll def check out some of the websites you all recommended. He loves nice wallets, and his are always getting worn out. As for the classic car stuff, I just have no idea where to begin – he’s not the type for "novelty" items like keychains and such, but maybe I could get out of him if he’d like a new gear stick or seat covers – his car is bad-a and I get it eventually!
The utopia beer from Sam Adams is a great idea (I worked at a liquor store all through college and we had the really neat looking metal bottle) for the connoisseur, but my dad likes bud and bud only…

Anyways, thanks for all the ideas – you have helped immensely!

Still, any other novel ideas are still welcome !!!

Where is the best place to host a wedding/reception?

I am getting married March 4, 2011 in Atlanta, Ga. I have a budget of 7,500 minus attire. I am hoping to have minimal food and drinks. More of a fun coctail party rather than a sit down dinner reception. I would love to be married in a garden or some type of outdoor setting where little decor is needed. I am looking for a ball room thats intamate for 25-50 guests. I want a place that allows outside decor and catering/drinks.

We are planning on an outdoor wedding at a lodge in Gatlinburg, TN. It has a large garden and terrace, a large front porch, and the interior of the lodge is tastefully decorated (not that log cabin decor look–think wingback chairs and hardwood floors).
The dress I found yesterday was absolutely gorgeous. I can’t find a pic online, otherwise I would post it. But it’s made of an ivory satin with a layer of champane lace and a short train. It is very comfortable and romantic looking. It doesn’t "poof" at all.
What do you think? Would it be too formal?
Gillan–your dress is somewhat similar to mine! A few differences–mine does not have the sash, the lace is slightly more predominant, and the top of the dress has a few pieces of lace that sit higher than the satin….otherwise it’s very very similar!
Also this is my First and only wedding.

any reception ideas anyone?

I am getting married here in 6 months and we are on a tight budget. we want to only spend no more than 1,000 dollars for 50 people tops our ideas are to have it a our friends house and just keep it intimate and then we thought about just paying for dinner at a resturant and pre choose the meals so no one goes over budget. then we thought not having one and just the bridal party and the family going out to a nice secluded dinner. this is hard. we already have the ceremony and everything else set but not this lol

also would it be rude to invite people to the wedding and not the reception? we have already cut out about 100 people from the list due to our budget ( by the way before anyone starts saying "if you dont have money to pay for your wedding then why get married" a wedding is just a show (my opinion) and we made a decision to make sure this wedding wasnt made to be bigger than the marriage so we are going to do a beautiful outdoor wedding at the botanical gardens (our first date by the way) , a nice honey moon in florida and save the rest our money for a savings to jumpstart out new life (plus i have kids) lol

any way we are open to any and every idea and believe we could make it elegant and intimate and CHEAP we just need your help ALL ideas are welcome.

please give details

locations

decor

resturants

ect

thanks oh by the way i am in ft worth tx

have a garden and how many? also would you have a garden/areas in the garden for each element (fire, water, wind, earth)?

would you have an alter in your garden?

how big would your perfect space (garden/outdoor space) be and what would you do with the space? (garden:what type and what type of plants, space: decor/hardscape, other:whatever else you would do).

how much time would you spend in your outdoor space/garden?

Any good ideas for a summer, outdoor wedding?

It will be outside in the evening & the reception will be at night. I don’t really have a theme as of right now nor do I have any colors picked out. I want lots of lighting & I want glittery, sparkly & shiny decor. I was thinking either an evening garden them or a "cool" (as in temperature) theme with cool colors like ice blue, white, silver, etc.

Any ideas for decoration, colors, themes, flowers, etc. would be greatly appreciated!

Iam wanting to know what to do to the chairs at the end of the aisle.
