Chimes are used to get the attention of passengers or cabin crew. They may be used to alert passengers about putting on their seat belts, or to ask cabin crew to call the flight deck on the intercom, or to notify cabin crew that take-off or landing is imminent, and so on. The exact set of chimes varies from one aircraft to another.
you mean that ding dong ding , it means usually that the pilot is about to speak through the speaker announcing the landing , or somthing important , that you should buckle your seatbelts for landing or take off , that sound is one of my favorite sounds it means landing ! and whenevr i travel ( to Poland europe , it’s beautiful ) it means that i’m going to see my loving family !
When I first flew I was scared and flying alone, a member of cabin crew sat with my for take off and landing. They said they are signals from the captain, such as so long to take off, amount of time to landing, ect. Because when they are seated they are not all close together as a crew to communicate. Not sure if I have it totally correct though, just was told it was that.
chimes are used for getting ur attention in the silent cabin as they wouldnt require a 120 decibel BOSCH horn to alert you.
