Do chocolate fountains splatter?
I was thinking of getting my mom a chocolate fountain for Christmas because she and her friends get together alot and they love chocolate. I was reading reviews on one when I saw one person complaining that the chocolate would make tiny splatters when the guests would dip their fruit and it would get on the table cloth (& maybe their clothes). No one else complained of this though so I thought I would ask here and see if anyone had any experience with chocolate fountains. This one was a small Rival. Or do you think a fondue pot would be better? Thanks!

Chocolate fountains either splatter, or people will drip when they pull the food out of the chocolate. A little mess is inevitable, and Rival is a good brand for most things.
I don’t know ur mother’s actual taste but I think a fondue pot wud be better
We here at the help desk used a chocolate fountain at our last Christmas party. We found that the high heat of the chocolate, heated by the fountain, approximately 1,000 degrees Farenheit caused severe burns on the hands, bodies and mouths of our guests. On occasions, some people even used the chocolate fountain to cook their turkeys giving the chocolate a FOWL taste.
well usually chocolate fountains are used at big parties like weddings and other stuff. I’ve used a chocolate fountain before and even diped something in it and it didnt splatter. But those who say that it splatters everywhere probably wasnt careful in dipping.
I can’t stand chocolate fountains.
The chocolate is of bad quality, and while they don’t necessarily splatter, people do drip, and hardened chocolate is a pain to clean off of dishes, linens, etc.
I would recommend a fondue pot. You can use it for more than just chocolate, and if you do use it for chocolate, you can control the quality. Gift that to your mom with a found recipe for awesome chocolate fondue – or even better, a fondue cookbook (check Williams-Sonoma).
No they don’t splatter, at least mine doesn’t you should be okay.
But you might want to get tooth picks to stick in the fruit or something.
