does my cut sound infected? how can i treat it at home?
On Saturday I was unloading the dishwasher when I accidentally cut my wrist on a knife. I immediately cleaned and covered it. A little later that day my bandaid had fallen off and I hadn’t bothered to put a new one on. The power flickered and I jumped, smacking the cut against the rim of a hot pan. I rinsed it in cool water and put burn gel on it. I’ve been putting antibiotic ointment on it and keeping it covered with a bandaid, but it hasn’t been healing right. It turned a weird yellowish color and the skin around it is warm, slightly swollen, and extremely red. The red keeps turning darker in shade. It hurts when I lightly touch it or move my wrist. I have some more burns on the same arm from two weeks ago, and they were healing fine, but since I got this cut/burn they’ve started getting red and sore again. Does this sound infected? what can i do to treat it at home? i dont have insurance right now and unless it gets worse i can’t afford a doctor visit.
Pictures I took earlier, the red is a lot darker now:

You can treat it with OTC triple antibiotic, and keep an eye on it. If the reddened area enlarges or you see any red streak along your arm, see a doctor. The only good change to see is the redness going away and the swelling going down. Keep it bandaged but allow air in through the sides of the bandaid.
it’s filling with puss, because it was cut then burned the puss can escape, it is fine, you dont need a doctor, it will heal. Try to put dream cream on it ($20) you can get it at the drugstore. itll b fine dont worry
If it’s filling with puss this means it healing just as long as it doesn’t get red anymore or any further up your arm than I would just put some Antibacterial medicine on it and leave it alone or have someone look at it if it gets worse.
