I’m doing a project in uni and was wondering what sort of flowers, trees etc. would be good to put in a minimalistic garden design in the UK. Easy maintenance would be essential and also would last most of the year.

You have many choices. I think the BBC gardening site will help you.

Then the Royal Horticultural Society will help you.

"Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, whose trust is the LORD.
He is like a tree planted by water, that sends out its roots by the stream,
and does not fear when heat comes, for its leaves remain green,
and is not anxious in the year of drought,
for it does not cease to bear fruit."
