Walk her out to the lawn and watch her. Make sure she doesn't walk back towards the patio and don't allow her to play until she goes to the bathroom. Try to use a command like "go potty" or something else creative so everytime you tell her that she should know what to do. Once she has finished her business make sure to praise her and maybe even give her a treat to show her she's done something good. Eventually you should be able to let her out without watching her and ween her off of the treats. If she is only 6 months old and you are already losing your patience you might want to think about giving her up anyway because a owning pet is a lot like having a child and they should be treated like one. Believe me, being the owner of a 15 month old puppy I can warn you there are a lot more problems to come. The key is obedience, patience and lots of love! Good luck! Meaning she smells some other odor and is attempting to claiming it by leaving her mark. The best way to handle the situation is when you take your dog outside to use the bathroom, stay with her (on a leash, but let her roam, wait for her actions) and if she is about to go there, do a quick leash correction meaning a quick, sharp tug on her leash, (to redirect her mind), and do a quick, ehh sound (or any other sharp sound). Then bring her to the area you want her to go, and keep her there until she does her business. When she does go reward her, and bring her inside. Also don't forget to clean the spot where she usually goes VERY well so you can get rid of the odor she could be picking up. Also make sure you show leadership. For instance when you walk through a door (perhaps going inside, or getting ready for a walk) make sure you go first. Also when you come home from work or another place, do not rush to greet your dog. This is you just giving her praise like you are worshiping her. Wait until she has calmed down and get her to sit for your attention. This way you are taking control, and your dog will see you as the leader in your "pack."
