My daughter wants a Bug/Garden Birthday party for her 5th birthday. We dont have a garden so im leaning more toward the bug theme.
Pin the bee on the flower, pinwheels in flower pots on the tables. I dont want to do the hamburgers/ hot dogs thing again so i’m thinking sandwiches… lemonade w/ gummi bugs in ice cubes. Fruit plate w/ yogurt dip.
I really want to make this special for her… so any help and advice would be great!
I need help with favor ideas, games, anything really

I had to choose an attitude and I picked "terrifying." What kind of terrifying experiences in a garden could you suggest? My original attitude was going to be peaceful, until I got attack by a million bugs!

These bugs are a nuisance, and they seem to be everywhere. How can we rid our home of them? They have invaded our kitchen, living room and even our bathroom! Please help. Thanks!

I am going to make a mosaic stepping stone (10" Diameter circle). I am trying to find a free tile mosaic (not stained glass) pattern. I am looking for something for the garden, flowers, bugs/butterflies or even just a design.
Thanks.

I have a small garden (vegetables and flowers) around perimeter of my house. Often see it in the fertilizer sections of stores. Don’t understand the concept of how it is useful in gardening. Also, any ideas on how to deter bugs from plants?

My aunt has this bamboo wind chime out back. there is a wood bee that has taken residence in it.
The little bugger goes inside the chime but he mainly just chills on the outside. We are both terrified of bugs and she doesnt have money to call an exterminator.
What would be the easiest most simple thing to do that would involve as little contact as possible with it?
It has already chased her, we can’t even go in the back yard (which is teeny)
Also, do they sting or bite? Ive been told they dont but that sounds hard to believe. Don’t all bees have stingers? and i’m sure they would bite if threatned. But i’m no expert. Please help. Anything is appreciated. Thanks
Also I know this will sound dumb but if there is a humane way to do it please say so but we are willing to kill it too.

I live in a second floor apartment and don’t spend much time outside on my patio, but I would love for it to look half way decent, what would you suggest for a working girl with a budget? Plant recommendations that ward off bees, wasps and bugs in general would be a plus! Thank you and happy Summer time to you!

Im making a windchime in ceramics (class im still in highschool). I have to make a base, clanger (not sure if thats the official name but its the thing that hits the chimes), and a weight.
As my base im going to do a dragonfly on a lillypad that looks like this:

Does anyone have a suggestion on what i should make the clanger and weight? It has to go with the colors and the theme (which includes bugs n stuff…i was thinking about doing ladybugs but that doesnt go very well).

I live in Charleston, SC, and it is hot and humid here all the damn time. My patio gets direct sun for most of the day, but it is still always damp. The flies and mosquitoes love it. I don’t want to buy a nasty bugzapping lamp, burn a bunch of citronella candles, or spray pesticides which may make my dogs sick. Are there natural ways (maybe certain plants or types of mulch or ground cover) which will keep these bugs away from the patio?

I hate bugs and I saw a black bettle sqirming around my small apartment patio. I ran inside and looked it up on the net. Now I am freaked out thinking it’s a carpet beetle, and I have a dog door the dogs use to go in and out and I don’t want the beetle coming in and laying eggs. What should I do? The beetle hid somewhere now I can’t find it.

I will be living in very south alabama, somewhat near florida.
I want to make a garden in my back yard and the size of my garden is going to be 20 feet by 30 feet.
What should I plant?
I plan to plant marigolds since I believe bugs do not like the smell of marigolds and will stay away. Is this a good idea? How many marigolds should i plant?
Tips and other information would also be appreciated.

I used to live up North on east coast. So I don’t know much about sw Florida. Can veggie plants be grown sucessfully outdoors (say like in Cape Coral or St. James City), or should they be done in large pots and kept by windows under shelter? Would too many "bugs" or the bad winds or downpours destroy the veggie plants if they were done outdoors? I don’t want to look like an idiot doing vegetable plants outdoors around here if it really is’nt possible to keep them alive well out there or keep them from getting broken. Vegetables like: big beef tomatoes, big bell peppers, yellow squash and eggplant.
