On Saturday I was unloading the dishwasher when I accidentally cut my wrist on a knife. I immediately cleaned and covered it. A little later that day my bandaid had fallen off and I hadn’t bothered to put a new one on. The power flickered and I jumped, smacking the cut against the rim of a hot pan. I rinsed it in cool water and put burn gel on it. I’ve been putting antibiotic ointment on it and keeping it covered with a bandaid, but it hasn’t been healing right. It turned a weird yellowish color and the skin around it is warm, slightly swollen, and extremely red. The red keeps turning darker in shade. It hurts when I lightly touch it or move my wrist. I have some more burns on the same arm from two weeks ago, and they were healing fine, but since I got this cut/burn they’ve started getting red and sore again. Does this sound infected? what can i do to treat it at home? i dont have insurance right now and unless it gets worse i can’t afford a doctor visit.
Pictures I took earlier, the red is a lot darker now:

Would wet burn pads work on a healing tattoo?

I used these a few years back when I got a bad burn at work, and they’re meant to keep burns moist while they heal, and it sounds to me like something like that might work well for a healing tattoo. Like during the day its ok for me to leave the tattoo exposed with lotion on it, but I’m worried about at night, because its on my arm, and I sleep with my arms under my pillow, so I was thinking about using one of these pads just while I sleep. Would that be okay, or would it just mess everything up?
