I was at a Home Show recently and saw something I’d like to get for my mother-in-law for Christmas. They looked like windchimes but didn’t have the chimey-things on them. They were made of metal and did kind of an optical illusion sort of thing in that they had cut outs of different animals (or whatever the subject was) and each cut-out was twisted a slight bit. The whole thing was displayed on a motor which turned it around and it made a really cool looking pattern.
I know this is a horrible description, but I was hoping someone would know what I was talking about and know what the name of them was or where I could find them. A link would be very helpful.
Thanks in advance.

If you watch a Thursday or Saturday Night Football game on the NFL Network, after commercial breaks there is a time when a big announcer voice starts listing the sponsors for the game. In the background there is a track that is totally awesome. It starts off chimes sounding like a Christmas Carol (like Silver Bells) and then rocks out. It’s not Hell’s Bells by AC/DC and it has nothing to do with the NFL Themes on FOX, NBC, or CBS but it’s a little like them. I’ve searched a bunch on the internet for it and come up empty. Anybody got any help?

I got my husband a betta fish for Christmas, we gave it to him early. I set up everything a a couple of days before we got the fish. When I first rinsed everything and filled the bowl (1.5 gallons), it was crystal clear. The next day, it was full of little bubbles. I read online to wash my hands and just reach in and brush off the bubbles, so I did that. Remember, no fish in it yet. Then we added the water conditioner. The next day, before we went to get the fish, the water looked cloudy! I called the pet store, and they advised to just set up the filter for a while. The tank has a filter, but it is not set up now because I wanted to make sure it wasn’t too much current for a betta. So, I set up the filter, and that helped a little. So we got our betta (he is beautiful!) and he took to the tank right away with no problems last night. He ate a bloodworm, but there isn’t any excess food in the tank. This morning, the water is very cloudy again!!!! Should we change his water already, even though he has only been in the tank for less than 24 hours??? Help, we love our new boy fishie! Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

K, I’ve heard this twice in my life, once as a child, and once a couple of years ago. Both times it was at night, dark outside. It was snowing, I was in Michigan, around Dearborn.
Chimes is the best I can describe it, brief, and far away, and the sound comes from straight up overhead. Not the jangling of wind chimes, like a soft chime like in baby toys.
This wasn’t at Christmas, rather a bit after, like late January or so.
Has anyone else heard this? Know what it is? Know where I could find out?

My Mum used to put little bells on the washing line and they would tinkle in the wind, and my Mum would say Shh!! Can you hear his sleigh?
Until one day my Dad put the presents in the bedroom fell over and woke us up. Any he replied in his usual soothing way Get to sleep you ba$tards! Ahh the loving sound of my Indian (India) father brings back such gentle thoughts of a fathers way of telling you Father Christmas doesn’t exist!

Do you think that you can use pine garland creatively without making the wedding reception look christmas-y, I want kind of a garden feel. I am having the reception in an open pavillion at a park in August. I thought about draping some on the ceiling but I don’t want it to look like christmas decor, any ideas?

i’m 21, he’s 24. we just met a couple weeks ago and we’ve spent almost every day together. he’s mentioned not ever getting anyone anything for christmas, but then he’s also mentioned thinking about making me windchimes (kind of what he does for work) should i get him something small anyways? or should we just go out to a nice dinner or something?? we’re still getting to know each other so i dont want to really do anything too meaningful but something still nice.

I have no idea what’s the name of the song, artist, or when it was created. But this song is really famous,SPECIALLY IN WINTER TIME AND CHRISTMAS; Its used in many tv commercials, and I like it. Its like this chimes, and I think the musical piece is purely instrumental. I’ve heard it in many commercials, and its always the same instrument is like this solo of chimnes or a similar instrument. I know the details are very brief, but hopefully someone will help me. All answers are appreciated.

My pregnant fiance & me are having a courthouse wedding with a few family members there this Friday. The next day, Saturday, we are having a BBQ reception party at her uncle’s house – he lives in the country and has a nice plot of land. Her dad has bought like 50lb of pork, 20lb of chicken, and like a veggie platter, and some random other things (theres going to be a live band also). Also, he has gotten like a 3 cases of beer. I think at most there will be like 30 people there (hopefully). I’m going tommorow, when I get paid, to get decorations for the wedding and liquor. What kind of decorations and liquor should I get? I have at most 0 budget to go on. I was thinking of white Christmas lights to put around the porch and other areas (there is going to be 2 to 3 fire pits there too). Liquor I planned on getting a big bottle of Bacardi and a bucket of fresh strawberries to make homemade fresh daquaries and some Tangaray (sp?) gin. What else can I get for decorations and liquor?

My sister thinks she is destined NOT to own a garden gnome.
I thought that I could find one for her in time for Christmas, but it is proving to be impossible! I live in the GTA so, anywhere within an hours drive, I will go.

We are looking for a slow song, classical without vocal, that has bells ringing in it. Preferably chime-like bells, but ‘church-type’ bells are ok also. And please, no Christmas music! This is for a wedding.

Does any one know what to expect the day after Christmas from Gamestop, sales wise.
