My grandpa gave me his old antique Montgomery Ward 31 day wind up clock. Since trying to put it up in my home it will not work. The running joke is that it was on their wall so long it won’t work on my wall. It is fully wound up and cannot turn the key anymore. So is it a mechanism problem or a pendulum problem. It will work for about 3-4 minutes before the pendulum stops. It still chimes when ever I move the hands. Is it something I can fix or should I get it looked at by a pro. Don’t want to waste money if it’s just something I can move with the pendulum. Thanks

I have recently plotted out complete plans for a chiming, self-rewinding clock, made entirely out of legos. Now I want a new challenge. Does anybody out there know where I may find schematics of the earlier, larger mechanical calculators? Hence before the Curtas came into popularity. I would like to make it add, subtract, multiply, and divide, and possibly find the scuare root of a number.

It finally stopped chiming and 2 of the coils are wound too tight and I CANNOT find anyone who works on clocks anymore..Used to a jewelry repairman had the knowledge and capabilty to wotk on them but I think it has become one of the "lost" arts..Any suggestions on where I can take i or ship it?

1. According to the first paragraph, what characteristics of the "Red Death" make it such a horrible disease?
2. Describe in detail Prospero’s plan for escaping the epidemic.
3. What do the ebony clock and its arresting chimes add to the plot? Can you think of any symbolic value the clock might have?

During ESPN and ABC football broadcasts one can hear what sounds like clock chimes in the background. They do not coincide with any actual time and sometimes occur just a few minutes apart.

I was bored so i made up a little poem. Im 13 so don’t expect anything Awesome. Just if you have spare time, comment and tell me what y’all think
Oh and if some bits in there don’t make sense then sorry, i just use words that have a very specific meaning. If you get me
Heres the poem.
Angels watch Beyond the sky,
clouds will wander through the night.
The clock begins to chime its cold bells,
Floorboards creek below the stairwell.
Doors will open doors will Close,
Wind will cry from the coldness it flows.
Hell is awake, Hell is aware,
Night is the reason we all are scared.
Things unknown will lerk upon us,
Every step forward is a step of a curse.
Children’s laughs turn into cry’s,
As the Angel of Death looks into there eyes.
It watches for People, people alone,
No where is safe. Not even your home.
So thats the stupid poem. Its not gonna be used for anything so you dont need to tell me how to improve it
. But if you feel you need to then thats cool. Well thanks for reading my poem.
Take Care

Lately for no reason at all, the clock on my computer chimes/dings(sounds like a doorbell to me) every 15 minutes and i have no idea how to turn it off or make it stop. Ive went to the volume control and clicked "sounds" but i don’t see anything relating to the clock…does anybody know how to turn it off?

My clock keeps correct time and chimes at 15minutes past the hour and half hour. Anyone knows how to synchronize with the time?

A clock chimes every hour on the hour, and once each quarter hour in between. If you hear it chime once, what is the longest you may have to wait to be sure what time it is?

I sprayed some WD40 and nothing is happening I have moved the clock and it now seems to be completely out of whack from every angle. It is keeping time but will not chime. I had the weights wrong and fixed that, I also has to put the middle chain back on after I ran it up too far and had to rethread it. The clock was not chiming before hand.

Does the first chime of big ben indicate a zero hour, or does the last?. Example, at 12.00 midnight, does the 1st chime mean it’s now 12 o’clock or does the 12th chime mean it’s now 12. o’clock?
