Abandoned hummingbird eggs?

I have a hummingbird nest on one of my windchimes outside.. the mother has been gone for 3 1/2 days now and I haven’t seen her come back at all. I did find a dead one in the grass near the location of the nest, but I can’t be sure if that’s her because I get so many in my backyard…If she isn’t back tomorrow I’m taking the eggs out and plan on hatching them myself. Do I just use a heat lamp to incubate them? Is there anything else that I need to do for them to hatch properly? What about after they hatch?

Hummingbirds?

I live in Indiana and in the summer ( or maybe spring) , some hummingbirds come to the feeder. I read an article in this magazine called " Birds & Blooms) and it said about these hummingbirds building nests in strange places, like ropes and windchimes. In the summer or spring , if I place a tiny little bird house ( because they check out anything my mom puts out there) will they lay eggs in it if they are interested in the birdhouse? Or it is not their egg-laying season yet in the summer, in Indiana?

I am using Better Homes and Gardens Interior Design Software and I have decorated the kitchen with a lot of country stuff like chickens, cows, pigs, country eggs, aunt jamima so my kitchen right now is like a tanish brownish color. The cabinets and the drows are tan and the wallpaper is a tan decoration. So I am trying to find a color for my kitchen to go with the country style.

But any creative ideas? My mother when we got to be in our 20′s would put my sister’s and my easter chocolate bunny and eggs in a crystal bowl for each of us. I still have that crystal bowl in my china closet. Oh and we would have to hunt for our baskets even at 30. What wonderful memmories. I would really like to start a tradition with my son.

I hate bugs and I saw a black bettle sqirming around my small apartment patio. I ran inside and looked it up on the net. Now I am freaked out thinking it’s a carpet beetle, and I have a dog door the dogs use to go in and out and I don’t want the beetle coming in and laying eggs. What should I do? The beetle hid somewhere now I can’t find it.
