I just asked a question about what a great way to do a theme for my daughters room. She will be 1 1/2 and getting into her toddler bed, and I wanted a theme that wasnt artoony and would last till at least 5. Well I got a great answer about a french/country tea party garden. Where can I find crib matress sized linnens and what colors would I use on walls and bedding and drapes? I dont want wild colors or anything. Simple luxurious fabrics and colors please. As of now she has tan burber carpet but I think I want to switch to bamboo hardwood. Her furniture is cherry so would a sandy/medium brown wood color be ok with that? Any thoughts on where to find some great decor to go along. Please nothing to "childish". I’d like it to be tasteful yet fun and classy. Not beyond her age, just not like dora the explorer type stuff.
Well as of now her walls are ivory on top yellow chair rails and trim and sagey green wainscoting. We have apinted before we knew whether or not she was a boy or girl so the paint was neutral. I would like to throw some more girly colors in there. And I really love like super super light lavendary colors.

Is it condo? Is it a country home? The design, the floor, the lighting, the wall, the furniture, the decor?
Do we need a bathroom and toilet? Will there be any bed? Will all our favorite pets be there? Will be live alone or with our earthly family? Will there be enough room for souvenirs that we will collect throughout eternity? What kind of sound system and TV will there be? Do we need handphone? What kind of a window view will we have? Do we have garden?

Can you answer all my Kitty Questions?

today I decided to take a stray cat in- I think she is pregnant and she might have been someone’s cat ( she’s very friendly and smart.) but she looks like she’s lived on her own for a while. she’s dirty and she has scabbed up wounds.

I’m saving $ to take her to the vet- but for right now I have Lots of questions.
I’ve never had my own cat- my roomate had one, so i know a bit..
can you tell me why she does these things.

-While I am petting her she climbs up my sholder and rubs the side of her face on mine ( while purring.)
- she lays right next to me and puurs / meows and when I stop petting her
- when I get up , even to go to the bathroom she follows me and waits at the door. If I am up too long she meows.
- She is always looking at me, even if i haven’t moved.

- I bought 2 bowls, wet and dry food, cat box and crystal litter, i put her in the box once, and fed her once- will she remember when everything is?
-I put a blanket down- is that okay for now?
Thank you!
also, do I need to give her a bath?
I wasn’t going to – but my neighbor said she might be dirty and I could she could get me sick. ( i didn’t think that cats could spread illness to people, is that true?)

Is it okay to let her sleep on furniture?

I have a soon to be 5 year old little brother with down’s. He has the mental capabilities of a 9 month old (according to the professionals), and the physical of a 6 month old I believe (he drags himself around, can’t crawl, does sit up, but can stand on furniture). I have never seen any child with down’s as behind as he is. He doesn’t talk. He can’t say a single word. He’s had physical and speech therapists since he was 1, and since last year he’s also in special ed at the local elementary school.

Here’s why I think he is also autistic: he will bang his head against the wall all day if we let him (we don’t), he will sit there and do stuff like spin the dog’s water bowls for hours, never tires of it, day after day if he is able, my brother accidentally stomped on him with football cleats on (he was running and my little brother had his arm stretched), this broke his skin and he didn’t notice. Just looked at his hand a little, and then continued on. If he hurts us (pulling hair) and we scream, cry out, yell (ouch, not at him), whatever, he will not notice. My one sister is afraid to pick him up because he pulled such a huge chunk of her hair out last year. He just grabbed back there, held on and pulled. My sister was screaming at the top of her lungs and crying and it took two of us to gently pull him off of her. He didn’t notice anything. Yes, his hearing is fine. He is with other special needs children in class and doesn’t acknowledge that they’re even there. He’s never played with another kid, he’s always in his own little world.

I know this is jumpy and all over the place, but I just got in an argument with my mom and she doesn’t think anything’s wrong because she feels that a professional would’ve noticed by now. I’ve met other down’s kids his age and they were singing, talking, walking, etc… I realize that there’s different degrees of down’s, but is what I described about him normal for down’s? I went to this site:

http://www.altonweb.com/cs/downsyndrome/index.htm?page=autism.html

and he matches almost every single thing on that chart for autism (scan down a little, there’s pics displaying symptoms of autism).

Any ideas? I’m just worried about him.
He doesn’t eat real food. He still is on a bottle with a special formula the doctor has him on, because he will not take a spoon, although my mom and the teachers try everyday. He just hasn’t improved in any way in 3 years, except for the fact that he can hold his own bottle now.

I have creamy/white furniture and dont know what color to paint my roomm! i dont want it to be too bright because its a tiny room. Any ideas are appreciated AND decorating tips!

What color bedding would i use?

The walls are going to be like a blueish/green color. The color is called "Caribbean Splash" I’m not really going for a "theme" type room, I just have no idea what color bedding to use.
I have white furniture, and i’m gonna be hanging posters and scones on the walls, and hanging up a wind chime and a shell thing. I just really need some help.

Ideas for a garden theme!!?

I want to redecorate a TV room with a southernly garden feel. Lots of sunflowers, color, and plants involved. Any ideas for furniture and decoration :) ??

Home and Garden Question?

What are the decorating trends this year/or season for a home? What room scents are the most popular, candles, incense, etc. What flowers are popular for Fall and Winter(store bought of course)? What colors are in as far as wall color and general room color of the furniture to the decorations? I am oblivious when it comes to designing and decorating I could use a little bit of help please. Thanks! =)

Toddler bedroom? (Also in Home & Garden)?

I’m going to move into a new house soon, and need some ideas. I am due with a baby boy in November, but I already have furniture and Noah’s Ark bedding for him. I also have a 13 month old boy but have no idea what I want to do for his room. He has always slept in bed with us and never had his own room so I have nothing for him (actually, the furniture and bedding for boy #2 was originally for my oldest but never came out of storage and has never been used). The room he will be in has a high bay window, too. I want to do something original with the paint, maybe a cool theme room. I don’t want any cartoon characters, though. I refuse to do winnie the pooh or cars or anything too cliche. I like the idea of maybe a forest theme with trees painted on the walls, or a beach theme – something like that.

Any suggestions?

how do i get rid of a pesky bird on my patio?

there is a trellis above my patio and this bird flies up and down and hits his head constantly on the trellis. very annoying. i rearranged the furniture, but he still keeps doing it. i guess i have made him mad and he is now pooping on my car, even though the car is under a covered carport. sometime told me to put out a bowl of bleach; this is not working.

The neighborhood is rife with cats & all of them want to mark my patio as their own. Some of my furniture out there isn’t the stuff you can just hose down either. Any suggestions that don’t include anti-freeze or a pellet gun? Thanks.
