k. so i went and got an x ray from my humerus fracture that wasnt healing. the bone was kinda falling towards my body (2 ends of bone not touching yet), and the doc gave me some pillow thing to prop it up, but i think he left it on too long…and it over corrected so now its angled. (the bones are touching now) its not terrible, just a little bent.
he says ill have full use of my arm if i just leave it. it will just be a minor cosmetic defect, and im in so much pain i wanna leave it if what he says is true, i just wanna get the healing process done with. my mom demands a second opinion because she said that sounds ridiculous so we’re going to another doc next wednesday.
my question is..do you guys think what he’s saying sounds correct?
if not, are there any non-surgical methods for fixing this other than a very painful refracture and reset?
or do you think that maybe they can somehow gradually push it back in?
any advice appreciated.
thanks

People keep saying that it’s normal and part of the healing process.
Sounds cool and all, but I’ve had my tongue pierced for 3 years and it’s still there. What causes that?
I am very sensitive to nickel; I can’t wear cheap earrings or my ears become infected – instead, I wear eyebrow rings in my ears and they work just fine.
You’d think a tongue barbell would be just like the eyebrow piercings (not having cheap metal in them). …..

I got a tattoo on my neck last saturday so it’s been almost a week. it was pretty scabby for a few days and not gonna lie, i sorta picked at it.. not really but i would rub it lightly and dead inked skin would come off so i am assuming that is the same type of thing. i refrained from scratching or peeling any skin off though.
but my question is, it feels almost normal now except the skin has a weird texture.. i’m not sure how to describe it. is this normal for the healing process ? i read somewhere that the skin goes through stages and one of the ending ones is milky/filmy which i would definitely say mine is. i just wanna make sure i didn’t mess it up by helping the dead skin to fall off.. does this sound normal, or should i still have scabs at this point?
sorry first tattoo :$
also please don’t give me the lecture about picking at my scabs, i am well aware i shouldn’t have and will have to deal with the consequences if it did any damage.

I was wondering what exactly is normal for the healing process of a tattoo. So far, I have experienced no burning, itching, or otherwise STD sounding issues regarding my new tattoo on my neck. It is my first one, and I’ve been keeping it coated with Aquaphor just as the artist advised me to. My only issue is that my scabs are coming off in colors. The color remains, but the scabs, which are only on my outline, are colored. Is this normal?

I got my bellybutton pierced on Saturday, June 26, and I just want to make sure I don’t have any early signs of infection or anything..
It is sore, like when ever I move my stomach it aches, slightly.
It is very itchy, but whenever I get cuts or anything, and they heal, they get very itchy, so I think that’s how my body reacts to the healing process.
The top hole keeps getting little crusties around it, and is dry looking, and slightly pink.
That’s basically what’s going on with my piercing.. does it sound alright?
Oh, and I clean it 3-4 times a day with a saline solution, and 1-2 times a day with mild soap (as instructed to do so by my piercer)
Thanks!!

I had a bad chest/head cold- I’ve pretty much stopped coughing but my voice still sounds awful- is there a way to speed up the healing process? I sing in a choir and I have weekly voice lessons -so I keep missing practices and such.

I think my friend wants some sort of a rebound relationship with me. He just broke up with his girlfriend of 6 years. I don’t want to sound cruel and I don’t want to make it about me. He wants to come to my town to see me sometime soon. What do you think?
"I do not judge you and I know you are hurting deeply. I know you have expressed several times how you want to see me and I am very flatterred. If you come to town, I would gladly meet up with you. However, if meeting with me is going to hinder you in anyway or delay the healing process that these situations entail, I rather not. I hope you could understand. I am supportive whichever you decide and I want to be considerate to you. I have opened up my heart to you because I sympatize with you. I can only hope that I have been helpful to you. Whatever you do keep your thinking straight, remain calm and strong because you really, really are."

It has been over two weeks since I had four wisom teeth extracted and I have some questions. I was really lucky and only had to have stitches in one location, the other teeth were an easy removal. I had been feeling fine for about a week, no pain, no soreness, no nothing. I continue to rinse with salt water 3-5x a day, and I’m doing my best to keep my mouth clean (although I’m afraid of brushing near the holes). Two days ago, while inspecting the healing process I noticed a small circle of redness (a blood hue) at the hole which had stitches. The stitches were removed one week ago by my oral surgeon, so I know it is not irritation caused by them disolving. I started to feel sore again(bummer). Then, this morning I noticed the redness starting at one of the other holes. Does this sound normal? I was not given a water syringe, so all I’ve been able to do is rinse with salt water. I’m on here and not at my surgeon’s office because I live in VA, and he is in NY (my hometown). Suggestions?

I just recently got my Monroe pierced. I have plenty of piercings and know that the healing processes vary and take time. I clean it very well with antibacterial soap like I did with all of my other piercings, and also use mouthwash and sea salt rinses as directed. Right now it almost feels like the piercing is a pimple with a pocket of hard pus around it, and the swelling has went back and forth and is sometimes very bad. Is this normal? I’m also worried my smile will stay crooked, is that possible? That might sound silly but I’m just making sure everything is going correctly with the healing process.
Thanks!
Also, do your gums get used to it after the healing process?

I got my first tattoo last Monday and have been very good about washing it 3-4 times a day, letting it be open to the air for about 15 minutes and then applying a LIGHT layer of tattoo goo. I have not scratched it in any way. I have two questions about where my healing process is.
1) The instructions said to do as I have for 7-10 days, but what do I do after that to keep it moist? Still use tattoo go or switch to a fragrance and color free moisturizer like Keri?
2) Is it normal to heal in sections? I have one part of the tattoo where the scab seems to have come off, very small, about the amount of lead you’d see on a sharpened pencil, and this part looks lighter and when I wash it, a little bit of ink comes off now on the paper towel. Also, where the scab has come off, on the skin where there is no ink, it has been a brighter pink color very close to the tattoo for a couple days now but the color is not red and it has not radiated out. It also is not warm to the touch, nor does it hurt when I touch it. Does this sound normal?

That’s the best description I can give. If I twist a little or bend over and stand up or roll over in bed my side feels like your belly fills when you’ve drank a bunch of water and you jump up and down. I didn’t know if this was a normal healing process or if I should go back to the dr.

I got my tragus pierced about a month ago now and it was doing fine for a while and it was only itchy now and then which is a sign of healing i hear.
but then there was a tiny tiny red bump on the piercing i know it wasnt a keloid or anything cause it was too small and didnt hurt or anything but then last night when i was cleaning it i think i picked off a little piece of dry skin but im not sure.. and today it bleeding a tiny bit but it doesn’t hurt.
Does any of the things i said sound bad or is it all normal?
Also what was your expierence with the healing process?
please share any info you know thanks

i got a second set of holes in my ears about 8 weeks ago, and i’m concerned aren’t healing/haven’t healed right. they’re not swollen, bleeding, oozing, or itching. the only thing i’m really concerned about is when i take the earrings out, i have a hard time getting them through the backs of my ears.
i got my first set when i was 9 (i’m 21) and i never had problems like this, even in the earliest stages of healing. i’m not even sure how to describe it… it’s like the back part my earlobe is torn just under the skin. when i put the earring in, it gets about half-way through with no problem, but then it feels like i’m just probing around under the skin on the back of my earlobe. sound gross? well, it feels gross.
at first i thought it was just because i have sensitive ears and they needed more time to heal, but like i said, i didn’t have this problem with my first set of holes. i’ve been cleaning them regularly with peroxide (i don’t really trust that "ear cleaner" stuff they give you).
and before anyone asks… no, i did not do them myself. i’m not that brave. the first set was done at claire’s, the second at piercing pagoda. both were done with piercing guns.
has anyone had this happen before or have some helpful advice?
or am i being overcautious?
i got them done 8 weeks ago. the piercer said at 6 weeks it’d be okay to take out the studs and replace them with regular earrings. so at 6 weeks, i removed the piercing studs and replaced them with nickel-free earrings (the piercing studs were supposedly nickel-free, but i couldn’t tell if the constant itching was a result of the studs or part of the healing process).
