Where can I buy seeds for marshmallow trees?
I’ve looked at Walmart, K-Mart, and a few of my local Home and Garden stores, but I can’t find them anywhere. I’ve tried to find them in online seed shops, but I can’t find them there either.
Help?

I have recently acquired a simple light meter designed for gardening. I don’t understand why it reads the way it does though under different lighting conditions. LEDs and fluorescent lights don’t seem to register on it unless it is right next to the bulb while laser pointer sends the meter off the scale as does a low powered halogen flashlight. The only readings that vary across a wider range are from standard incandescent bulbs, those seem to "loose" less power with distance.
Can anyone explain why fluorescent lights don’t register on the meter even when the visible light is 10x that of the regular bulb?
I think the meter measures in Foot Candles. It’s one that you find at home and garden stores for under 10 bucks usually hanging near the flower pots and pretty eye hooks for hanging flower baskets. It has a gauge that says light on one side and dark on the other. The numbers are from 0 to 2000 but aren’t spaced evenly. I don’t know if any of that helps or not, but that’s the best description I can give,
I get what answer 1 is saying about light per square inch. However LEDs focus the light in a spot and it doesn’t register that even with the light focused on the receptor from 2 feet away, yet an incandescent bulb in an overhead fixture reads fine despite light dispersion. Something doesn’t seem to add up.
To answer 2
First, I’m growing a Golden Pothos, Nothing embarrassing or illegal, or even light needy.
Secondly, I get the light dispersion but my overhead flourescent light is still putting out MUCH more light that the dinky incandescent 20 watt that I have in a closet. Neither of them have reflectors. All things being equal on the light dispersion factor why does the incandescent bulb register more with less light?
I’m guessing it has something to do with the spectrum, maybe my meter is looking for infrared or red light that the fl. bulbs don’t produce as much of, but that doesn’t make much sense either.
I AM TRYING TO FIND A WAY TO MAKE EXTRA MONEY, I SIGNED UP FOR INFO FROM HEART WARMING CREATIONS, BUT I WOULD LIKE MORE HOME DECOR COMPANIES TO LOOK INTO. (BESIDES HOME AND GARDEN AND HOME INTERIOR) ANY INFO LIKE CONSULTANT BENEFITS AND HOSTESS BENEFITS WOULD BE GREAT! THANKS
does anyone know if they have out dvd’s of househunters that is on on the home and garden channel
I have found that places like Home Depot or Wal-Mart usually have the best prices, and since I have owned my home (and garden, yeah!) that is where I have been getting my plants and flowers from. But sometimes, I drive by one of those smaller, farmer type stores, and think I should go in just to see what they have, but I’m usually in too much of a hurry to do it. But from what I see from their displays outside, some of their stuff really looks top quality.
Although, with a little Miracle Gro, anything can look pretty good, right?
This is my first home and I’m moving out in about 6 years.
We already have been in here about a year.
My husband and I are in the military and next year, I am getting out to go to college full time.
I want to spruce up the master bathroom(appliance rearrange) and the tv room(closet from hell) and the garage( theater room) but I don’t want to put so much money in this house and kick myself when it’s time to sell.
How do you know what to mess with,
when to get a contractor,
how to figure out your budget,
what to do yourself,
how much is too much,
when to hire the realtor to evaluate what to do in the house (like on the home and garden shows),
when i should hire a designer to get the most out of my home without spending too much money or time or whether it’s worth doing at all,
when to get a survey of the area….
oh boy….
I posted a suggetion that home and garden should be broken into more parts. I know that the DIY and Maintenance parts are a pain the way they are right now. I feel they should be broken into parts ie.. electrical, plumbing, heating and air conditioning, roofing, walls, etc.. If it were that way people could answer questions with expertise much easier. Pets are already set up this way. If you agree please go and vote!

We have a beautiful country home and garden. However, we have groundhogs that have started to devour our more leafy vegetation. We have tried traps, poison, "dummy dolls", a stereo that plays music day and night, and now we are leaving the dog tied out on the lawn. Suggestions ???
I love tropical decor very much. Now I get obsessed with thatch. I am thinking of adding a tropical hut by the swimming pool. Maybe it is a great way to give my garden a tropical look. Anyone who can give me tips on adding thatch to my home and garden? Thanks a lot.
