It was a guy with a soothing voice and the 5 min session was going from the roots to the leaves. It had only four or so tracks, purple and black cover, and there was like a 5 min 10 min and 20 min. I am desperately needing relaxation and that cd was perfect.

meditation 17

PERCHANCE he for whom this bell tolls may be so ill, as that he knows not it tolls for him; and perchance I may think myself so much better than I am, as that they who are about me, and see my state, may have caused it to toll for me, and I know not that. The church is Catholic, universal, so are all her actions; all that she does belongs to all. When she baptizes a child, that action concerns me; for that child is thereby connected to that body which is my head too, and ingrafted into that body whereof I am a member. And when she buries a man, that action concerns me: all mankind is of one author, and is one volume; when one man dies, one chapter is not torn out of the book, but translated into a better language; and every chapter must be so translated; God employs several translators; some pieces are translated by age, some by sickness, some by war, some by justice; but God’s hand is in every translation, and his hand shall bind up all our scattered leaves again for that library where every book shall lie open to one another. As therefore the bell that rings to a sermon calls not upon the preacher only, but upon the congregation to come, so this bell calls us all; but how much more me, who am brought so near the door by this sickness. There was a contention as far as a suit (in which both piety and dignity, religion and estimation, were mingled), which of the religious orders should ring to prayers first in the morning; and it was determined, that they should ring first that rose earliest. If we understand aright the dignity of this bell that tolls for our evening prayer, we would be glad to make it ours by rising early, in that application, that it might be ours as well as his, whose indeed it is. The bell doth toll for him that thinks it doth; and though it intermit again, yet from that minute that that occasion wrought upon him, he is united to God. Who casts not up his eye to the sun when it rises? but who takes off his eye from a comet when that breaks out? Who bends not his ear to any bell which upon any occasion rings? but who can remove it from that bell which is passing a piece of himself out of this world?

No man is an island, entire of itself; every man is a piece of the continent, a part of the main. If a clod be washed away by the sea, Europe is the less, as well as if a promontory were, as well as if a manor of thy friend’s or of thine own were: any man’s death diminishes me, because I am involved in mankind, and therefore never send to know for whom the bells tolls; it tolls for thee. Neither can we call this a begging of misery, or a borrowing of misery, as though we were not miserable enough of ourselves, but must fetch in more from the next house, in taking upon us the misery of our neighbours. Truly it were an excusable covetousness if we did, for affliction is a treasure, and scarce any man hath enough of it. No man hath affliction enough that is not matured and ripened by and made fit for God by that affliction. If a man carry treasure in bullion, or in a wedge of gold, and have none coined into current money, his treasure will not defray him as he travels. Tribulation is treasure in the nature of it, but it is not current money in the use of it, except we get nearer and nearer our home, heaven, by it. Another man may be sick too, and sick to death, and this affliction may lie in his bowels, as gold in a mine, and be of no use to him; but this bell, that tells me of his affliction, digs out and applies that gold to me: if by this consideration of another’s danger I take mine own into contemplation, and so secure myself, by making my recourse to my God, who is our only security.

and the wind will whisper your name to me

Do you have any ideas on a inexpensive garden path? It will be coming from my house to the vegetable garden, the distance is about 100 ft. or more. This isn’t my property, so I need something thats not too permanent. I was thinking of maybe using dried leaves or something…. any ideas? It’s a long walk and I really just want to make it a little more pleasant back there. It’s kind of a country in the city type yard. Thanks

Is this poem any good, please be honest?

She dances through the trees
twirling over the ground
like leaves blowing in the wind
twisting in the dawn.
Every now and then
I catch a flash of green
her dress
as she flits around
like a fairy
with the rosy golden glow of the sunrise
illuminating her smiling face.
A warm wind blows
and her hair ripples
like birds feathers
gently shaking
in the summer morning.
She laughs
filling the still morning air with bells
then disappears
behind the camouflage
of a thousand trees.

I moved into my townhome last Feduary and it has a very small patio. It’s size is about 15×25 and it’s all concrete. I have some plants in pots that I have had for over 2 or 3 years but since I moved here they aren’t doing well. For example, my trumpet vine has not started blooming yet. last year it blooomed all summer and winter. My geraniums are pale and then turn yellow and dropping the leaves. Some are getting hollow and dark like if they are rotting. I don’t want to lose them, I inherited them from my dear grandmother.

the leaves are yellowing at the bottom of the plants…ie…tomato, squash, cucumber, bell pepper and pimento pepper. each are in their own planter. give them enough water to keep soil moist. used fresh miracle grow soil. plants were very healthy when bought and transplanted to patio planters three weeks ago. they get direct morning sun until 11:30 am.

Harry potter, can i write better?

Is it possible to write a book bettet than harry potter? I’m 13 and have been writing since seven , and want to write a book that’l be more magical than harry potter. If i use my imagitnation is this possible? now enter my world…rate the part of my story out of 10 please.

An eerie silence lay across the neatly kept houses on Glamestone Lane. Trees were slowly losing their leaves. Bundles of them had already been piled into heaps. The days of autumn were drawing close to an end. The air had already changed from its mild temperature to chilly and cold, signalling the departure of autumn and the nearing winter.

The residents were people who believed in punctuality and neatness. Cars faced in line towards the houses. Gardens were well furnished, with ornaments such as gnomes placed beside the doors. It could have been a perfect street, had it not been a gloomy looking house hiding in the far end of the road, beside an alley way.

The tangled vines slowly spread its way around the walls of the house. The windows were covered with thick curtains. The plate bearing fifteen Glamestone Lane was half covered by the overgrowing plants.

What is the best way to clean a Cocrete Patio?

It has black stains on it from leaves.
I have power washed it, and that faded the stains slightly.
The Patio is only 3 years old, and no it wasn’t sealed.
Will I be able to seal it after I get the stains out.

I heard I could use acid but I’m afraid of what that might do to it and the grass and other things around it.

What is the tone in John Donne’s Meditation 17?

Nunc Lento Sonitu Dicunt, Morieris (Now this bell, tolling softly for another, says to me, Thou must die.)

Perchance, he for whom this bell tolls may be so ill, as that he knows not it tolls for him; and perchance I may think myself so much better than I am, as that they who are about me, and see my state, may have caused it to toll for me, and I know not that. Is it possible to create music from moving images?

I would like to film a tree as it moves in the wind, feed the video into software, and then do something to attribute sounds and instruments to the movements of the tree’s elements to hear what it would sound like.

Say, you would electronically "attach" different bells to certain leaves, a running percussion to the stem, etc.

Is there any software out there which lets you do this? I know it works in reverse with music which gets visualized as a picture.

Thanks.

I had spoke to one guy and asked him the same question. He said that about 50years ago Scientists found this Microwave Background Radiation Noise that seemed not to come from any direction as if it come from every direction. It happened from the big bang. Is it the Same sound (like a leaves moving in the wind or rain rapidly falling, or bells) that I hear when mediating? Also what happens when I hear it is a faint light, like blue lighting, but when focused upon it dissipates. As it gets louder I feel like I being sucked out of my body.

I just want to check with others to see if Im not right to feel this way..

I live in a two apartment home, I live upstairs and the land lord and his finace live downstairs. Theres a "garden" in the front yard where she planted some flowers and plants last year, most of the plants are now dead, but some flowers are still standing. My land lord keeps saying she is going to work on it.. but never does, she takes a lot of naps when shes home so it doesnt realy get done. No big deal, its there yard and all.

So, I wanted to help and I cleaned it all out and he was happy with that. I told him I didnt remove any of the dead things though as I didnt feel I had a right to since his finace planted them, not I. I removed all the wet leaves that had been there since last fall also pulled out all the weeds and removed the garbage that blew in there. I asked if I could put some small shepards arms (hooks) in the ground and put some wind chimes in, they both said yes…. (Continued…….)
and his finace said "Do you whatever you want that makes the house look better." So the next weekend I went down to the store and purchased some pretty pinwheels and put them in there also. I made sure I stuck them into the ground were they were not hurting any existing flowers or plants. They looked realy nice and gave the yard some color. :) I went out and came back and found them pulled out of the yard and tossed at the bottom of my stairs with a note saying "Sorry but Im not a pinwheel person" I found the same message in my email box, so I emailed her back and told her I removed the other things to, and told her sorry for the inconvienence. She replied wih "I like the wind chimes, just not the other stuff."

I was very upset by that. I went out of my way to spend the money and time to try and make the yard look a little better and she just pulled them out and tossed them at the bottom of my steps. She did say to add whatever.. if she only wanted wind chimes, shouldnt she have
said that? But since she didnt, do you think she could have just told me she didnt like pinwheels and had me remove them instead of her just ripping them out of there?

Please tell me if Im right for being upset or not? I realy could use some opinions please.

(Sorry for the length.)
No Joy, she is not. She is 50, I am 27.
