If you watch a Thursday or Saturday Night Football game on the NFL Network, after commercial breaks there is a time when a big announcer voice starts listing the sponsors for the game. In the background there is a track that is totally awesome. It starts off chimes sounding like a Christmas Carol (like Silver Bells) and then rocks out. It’s not Hell’s Bells by AC/DC and it has nothing to do with the NFL Themes on FOX, NBC, or CBS but it’s a little like them. I’ve searched a bunch on the internet for it and come up empty. Anybody got any help?

Help with Indoor aquarium garden?

I’ve had a biOrb aquarium for the last 2 years and as some of you may know there not the greatest when it comes to keeping fish. I’ve decided to get rid of the present fish, give them to a relative or back to the fish store. drain the tank and dump all the decor.
I’m planning to use it as an indoor garden(mini rainforest) plant mini palm trees and tropical plants that are suitable etc…
I’m also planning on making interesting by adding a staircase for an upstairs, a little pond (if possible), mini houses/people surrounded by exotic plants and rocks etc..

Any ideas on how I can start this off?

I’m planning on doing some research first so if there’s anything that’s vital to know before starting up I’d love to know.

Do I need under soil filter?
Does the soil need to be a certain pH?
What plants would be suitable?

How can I make or where can I buy mini houses/people/stairs. How can I make an upstairs, or platforms?

Thank You

how much should I charge for a small herb garden?

I planted a rock-lined herb garden for my mother recently, and her co-workers and friends have shown interest in one of their own. I estimate about 250-300$ if I want to make any money, but I feel like I should be charging more, even though I already feel like people will not want to pay that much for one.

The specifics:
20 ft diameter, rock-bordered, one large bag of high-grade potting soil mixed with the topsoil, 4 hours of labor, 1 hour of purchasing plants, 1 hour collecting local stones for border, 1 hour painting rocks as labels for each herb, and a total of 30 plants (9 different herbs).

I don’t have my own tools, so I’d have to use theirs, and I also designed the layout. I would definitely discount if I had to use the customers’ tools and if they also designed the layout of the garden. The price would obviously reflect the size of the garden, but the 20 ft diameter price would be a good starting place.

Thanks for your input!

It’s for a small patio in our front yard, wanting a bunch of small rocks and one large one maybe about 3 feet long and two feet high? And a buch of small ones…Where do I buy this stuff?

Garden soil aborbs water?

I inserted a "lucky bamboo" in a pot with half garden soil, half desert sand. I noticed that when I water it, the water seems to stay at the top, and I hardly see anything at all in the drainage tray at the bottom of the pot. I’m wondering—is this because the drainage is clogged (by rocks or mud, etc.)? or is this simply because garden soil absorbs so much water that it expands and doesn’t let any through?

The reason I’m asking is that I’d rather not disturb the plant and uproot it, to look at the pot, if in fact the pot is working as designed–if its the garden soil itself that is the cause of this.
OK, it sounds like the sand may have accumulated at the bottom…. I just didn’t want to put too many nutrients into the soil, as I had damaged them earlier by putting potting soil (100%) into their pots earlier. What else can I use to mix with garden soil, to act as filler, that would not accumulate at the bottom, like the sand has?

Zen Garden ?

What is the significance of placement of stones over rocks? If you were to have it, how would you design them? Does color of the rock placed on top of the white ground gravel matters? If so why?

Need to know a website?

I don’t know if any of you may be able to give me a website, where they show any designs for landscaping. I have a new house, so I am working with my garden. I have a front bay and I am planning to put some tipe of design underground with rocks and all that. I don’t know where I could get some ideas in how to do a design for my landscape.

When I first got them, I had three actual goldfish and the two others were white and a brown/green color. When I first got them, I had no actual tank to put them in and ended up putting them in a small crystal bowl for about 3 months.

I recently got a big fish tank with a filter, rocks and a clean enviornment. And lately I noticed, that the brown goldfish is starting to turn gold and I am wondering if this is because of the new enviornment I put him in? Or if he was just young or something? I am also wondering if this means that the white one will turn gold as well?

Ok thanks and please no rude or pointless comments. Thanks again(:

How do I build a Japanese rock garden?

I am referring to the ones where people use the rakes to create ripple designs that encircle larger rocks, and create ripple designs at the edges of the garden.

I need to know the following things:

How does one go about building such a garden?

Are special permits from the local government required to create one?

What materials are needed to build such a garden?

If it takes up an entire backyard, how much would the cost be estimated at?

My male beta lives in a two gallon tank– no air bubbles, no heater, no filter. There’s gravel, a few rocks, some plastic plants but that’s about it. Not much decorations since I want to give him enough space to swim around.

Anyway, I’ve read somewhere that you need to change the water once every week. Since he’s a tropical fish–and I’m not taking any chances of losing the little guy–I clean the tank every Monday. However, sometimes I WANT to leave him there for another weak because the tank is spotless! No algae growing, not a speck of dirt anywhere. The water is crystal clear. Sadly, my back is aching from cleaning his bowl.

He’s healthy, active, and has a great appetite.

So… how often do I "really" need to change the water?

I would like to keep it simple and use rocks, a low
maintenance style. Any resources and books that
can show me would be of great help.
I saw one in the june issue of Canadian Living.
The Checkerboard style looked very neat and I’d like
one in by small section of my back yard.

I have a circular garden area that I have perennials in the summer. It has medium sized rocks surrounding it. I need a fall design that uses such things as hail bills, corn stalks, scarecrow, etc. Does anyone have a picture of a good display of these for in front of my house?

I have a patio set (table and four chairs) on my deck and I put a canvas cover on it. It’s pretty heavy and durable, but it keeps blowing off on windy days. Any tips for keeping it from blowing off? I guess I could put huge rocks on top of the table or something, but I think that wouldn’t look too attractive. Thanks!
