ok my moms best friend just died from cancer.she had it really bad in her lungs, bones, hips, tail bone, spinal cord and brain!! and she passed away recently!! her usband who is also my mom and dad’s friend is having a very hard time accepting his wifes death!!*&&* i was also having a hard time accepting her death soo… i wrote some poems to her… here are the two poems… I Miss You!
Ever since that day you flew,
Up into the sky and beyond the blue,
You took out hearts with a bucket of tears,
As we looked back at the memories through the past years,
God took you for a reason,
Even though we will truly miss you through every season!
there 1, and heres the other!
Wings!
As God lifted her up with his loving wings,
All the church bells sounded and started to ring,
God finally eased her from all her pain,
Even though there is not much here to be gained,
Now she will be sleeping for quit some time,
Until God welcomes her to welcomes her to heaven with music and chimes.

I used to rule the world
Seas would rise when I gave the word
Now in the morning I sleep alone
Sweep the streets I used to own

I used to roll the dice
Feel the fear in my enemies’ eyes
Listen as the crowd would sing
"Now the old king is dead, long live the king!"
One minute I held the key
Next the walls were closed on me
And I discovered that my castle stands
Upon pillars of salt, and pillars of sand

I hear Jerusalem bells a’ringing
Roman Cavalry choirs are singing
Be my mirror, my sword and shield
My missionaries in a foreign field
For some reason I can’t explain
Once you’d gone it was never,
never an honest word
That was when I ruled the world

It was the wicked and wild wind
Blew down the doors to let me in
Shattered windows and the sound of drums
People couldn’t believe what I’d become
Revolutionaries wait

For my head on a silver plate
Just a puppet on a lonely string
Oh…who would ever wanna be king

I hear Jerusalem bells were ringing
Roman Cavalry choirs were singing
Be my mirror, my sword and shield
My missionaries in a foreign field
For some reason I can’t explain
I know St. Peter won’t call my name
Never an honest word
But that was when I ruled the world

Mother's Day Gift Ideas (read below)?

Mother’s day is not till next month, but time flies by so quickly, and I would really want to get an early start because my mother is extremely hard to shop for. I would like to give something PRACTICAL to her….the keyword is practical….something she can use.

Please exclude the following: candles, perfume, lotion, blankets, mattresses, poems, songs, photos, collages, spa day or going out, shoes, clothes, jewelry, hair stuff, garden decor, window stuff, anything that has to do with the house or decorations, blenders, kitchen stuff, entertainment (cds and dvds), food, purses, watches, gift certificates or gift cards, money, electronics, blowdryer, sunglasses, gift baskets, keychains, anything to do with car kits because she does not have a car and I can’t afford to buy her one and plus she does not know how to drive and no I do not want to buy a lesson to learn how to drive, picture frames, sewing kits, baskts, anything home-made, etc.

Told you it was hard!

Can I have an honest critique of my short story?

Is it interesting and is it going anywhere?

May could not have come fast enough for the budding group of departing seniors from Colford University. On an evening where the euphoric skyline that draped over the jubilant grads stood still in a blend of blue and tangerine, the day was about to retire into the evening twilight. For the numerous students who packed commuter vans and walked in groups averaging 3-5, their nights were just beginning.

Most were ready to let their hair down after a tumultuous month of papers, exams, and research studies. Among the gallery of white baseball caps, oversized cups and domesticated cackling, stood well known attendees at an off-campus mixer. Ellie Bowden and her group of girlfriends comprised that list. Ellie and her girls were checking out the scenery, as they had so succinctly put into their efforts of meeting men of legitimate dating material.

Across the way, Brendan Rainer had his sights set on the 5’7 tawny-haired bombshell her mother affectionately refers to as ‘A little Ellie-fish, about to enter the big pond of life’.
Wearing a striped, button-down shirt, draped onto dreary denim jeans, and parted black hair and sideburns Brenden has had his ups-and-downs with the girl department. To his chagrin, although he valued and respected women, it has most often proved to be his Achilles heel as far as his love life was concerned. He was usually the best friend and he had long since tired of that image. Him and his buddies were also on hand kicking back in the corner and conversing. Was Ellie Bowden out of his league? Maybe. But then again, he had his gameface on. Nothing was going to stand in his way, except for two Capri-sporting, sandal-wearing, necklaced girls who got his attention first.

In the traditional sense, Brendan and Ellie came from opposite sides of the tracks. In lieu of their social standing, neither lacked drive. Besides, they were graduating college next week, so things should even out smoothly.

Early afternoon, Brendan woke up from a semi-drunken stupor to the hammering of the door from his father Don. Right off the bat the everso blunt, yet overprotective old man of the Rainers look his son square in the eye with a sentiment of Son, we need to talk.’ For Brendan this was all too routine. Had it been a cd that lain next to his hundreds of music tapes, a more fitting title of his father’s speech would be The Best of Mr. Rainer’s Bullshit Lectures: Volume 1, available in both Stressful and Unnecessary.. Brendan cared much for his parents although he sought to find his own identity in his 4 years of Colford. His mother Beverly was the first to hug the first of the clan to have done anything productive past high school. She and her husband were high school sweethearts who married into their early 20s and raised Brendan when they were relatively anew to their own existence. Over the years, they had gone out of their way to bond with their kid over a variety of topics, ranging from learning to balance his own check book to sex. Brendan beyond hoped it would not be one of those talks.. Admittedly enough his estrangement from his parents at a young age was not something that would deter his parents from doing their part in raising his son with some semblance of integrity and standard. That did not always stay in tact once Brendan started his freshman year, but then again so didn’t his laundry habits.

How you been, dad?,” Brendan asked with heavy eyes and semi-combed hair carrying a heaping helping of a month’s worth of wardrobe.

Just bring in the rest of your bags—you know your mom and I really missed you.”

He put on weight, Don,” Beverly chimed.

“I doubt that, honey.”

It’s been a while since you been at school, and.we’re going to have to ask that you switch to living in the basement or possibly moving out,” his father relayed passively.

What the hell?,” Brendan stood dumbfounded. He looked to his mother with a glance in his eye seeking approval if she would be too put off that he curse up a storm. It would not be the first time.

what about MY room, ma ?”

“Look son, we know this has been a hard pill to swallow but things haven’t been on the up and up at work,” his father retorted. “And ever since we came here her and I have had a hard enough time getting aid to put your brother and sister through school. That’s what it is, Brendan. I’m sorry.”

The middle child of the family was feeling like the forgotten one as he buried his head in his hands with an animated grunt and galloped upstairs before getting the attention of his mother. “Bren, we did keep your stuff downstairs,” his mother proclaimed to her defeated son, in a tone resembling a game show announcer letting a contestant know they had still won the complimentary parting prize.

"What the hell is that about, man?," was the initial reaction from his buddy Dennis. "I dunno, they’re being weird. But maybe it’s for the better," Brendan nonchalantly qui

ok ,heres the thing…
Marshals Sells Fur. I am opposed to skinning an animal for their fur. – unless it’s a by-product of a food source- (iow -use it all or leave it alone)- did you know that deer bones are hollow and you can make jewelry and stuff with them. I wonder what windchimes would sound like?…

aaanyway… but just to kill something for its Value (you know kind of like what Bush is doing in the MiddleEast) is disgusting to me,

But yet.. I buy Leather…. from Marshals. I suck.
(O& Durga-if you see this–i don’t do the fundraiser boxtops,either..*hides head ashamedly* )

Name some whimsical things, please?

I’m thinking of things like wind chimes, carousels, the sound of the rain – even the curlicued iron railing of fences.
Please list ANYTHING you find nostalgic or whimsical. It can be as out-there, as minuscule as you like.
I know this is a little weird – but I need it for a story I’m writing!
Thanks :D

I needed to write an article about something going on in sports i chose the Rex Ryan saying he was going to win the super bowl this year topic i just need to know if its OK or if i should change stuff i know theirs bad spelling i have to proof read but i want to know if its good before i do that. thanks!

New York Jets coach Rex Ryan is known for being overconfident and assuring
his team and anyone else who will listen of the wonders hes going to
acomplish this season or the next. Its his nature and everyone around
football has come to understand that, its his style of coaching, and after
last season many people are starting to bealieve what he says. Back in
2007 the jets where a 4-12 team, just 3 wins above the almost record
setting dolphins who ended there season at 1-13. 2008 was a vast
improvement, although the team missed th playoffs they ultimately improved
to a 9-7 record. After the 2008 season the Jets orginization was
dissipointed in the direction of the team, and its inability to make the
playoffs. This led to the firing of coach Eric Mangini, and eventual
hiring of rex ryan. This led to the apperance of a new Jets team. The team
looked different and felt different, Rex Ryan’s Swagger approach to
coaching helped the Jets into the COnference championships by giving them
the confidence to compete and by backing up the team with players like
Bart Scott and Braylon Edwards. Rex Ryan showed everyone last season and
brought his team farther than theyve gone since 1998. Now with the 2010
season set to start in a few months coach Ryan has again boasted about his
team by writing "Soon to be champs" on the side of espn’s training camp
bus. This may seem like an exaggerated statement put on there to keep his
team in good spirits but to Rex Ryan Its no joke. "I’ve got confidence to
put it up there. I don’t have to just put, ‘Go, so-and-so.’ Yeah,
whatever. To me, I believe we’ll do it, so why wouldn’t we say it? Why
wouldn’t we go for it?""I’m not apologizing. I just know what’s going to
happen. My crystal ball, I’m seeing a Super Bowl trophy in there. Now, I
could be wrong, but that’s what I see. But every time I go to work, that’s
what I look at." The most impressive part about all of this is that the
jets have a legitimate chance to win. WIth 12 pro bowl players and an even stronger defence thanks to the additon of Antonio Cromartie and other defensive assets the Jets are in the running to challenge their divison rival Patriots, and possibly even the reigning super bowl champion New Orleans Saints.

How to get a better singing voice? ?

Hello,

I am a 20 year old male. I consider myself a pretty accomplished musician. I began playing clarinet at age 8 and became quite skilled after a couple of years of playing, I picked up bass and guitar at age 11 and taught myself how to play without formal lessons. A little after that I taught myself piano and drums. After all of these years of playing I have now reached a bed accomplished level of playing on all of these instruments.Throughout high school, I have fiddled with other instruments in the orchestra and managed to become semi proficient on bassoon, upright base, saxophone, trumpet and trombone.

Now I am going to go out and say I have a very special knack for music. But although I feel I am naturally gifted.

I CAN NOT SING !!!!!

For some reason. Whenever I sing and ask somebody how I sound most just look at me and say, try just talking next time. I feel as though I sound good in my head, but it just seems to not project properly. I have perfect pitch and know that I can stay on key, but my singing voice absolutely terrible. I asked my girlfriend to give me her honest opinion on my singing. She said I can best be described as sounding like I’m going to pop like I have a lot of pressure or something.

First of all I don’t know my range but I have a pretty deep speaking voice, so I can guess its baritone or bass. I really would like to improve my singing voice. I figure if I can perform all of these other feats with music, why can’ t I Sing?

I am starting a band with my buddy and I will be playing lead guitar. Everyone else in the group is in the same boat when it comes to singing. I would like to improve and develop an "alternative" voice like the singers of American Hi-Fi, Bowling for soup, groups like that.

If anyone has any tips for developing a better vocal tone or help me find out what my problem is based in the information I have given, it will be most appreciated,

Peace

My dog is pissing me off. Help!!!?

I have a year old lab/greyhound mix that has an enormously large backyard, lots of soft and hard chew toys and 3 friends to play with (one dog, two cats). He won’t stop chewing my blankets, garden decor and other things. He also won’t stop digging. And it’s not that it’s hot or that there are animals we need to worry about. It is totally pissing me off and I have no idea how to stop it. I have tried putting him on a lead and he just digs holes around him bc he’s pissed off. We have tried giving him the run of the backyard with a warm place to go to sleep in. We have tried many things. HELP!!!
I have tried keeping him in the house but then he chews on blankets, gets in the trash.

I would love to take him to obedience training except that he know how to sit, walk on a leash, and all the fun tricks they learn at training.

What kind of punishment is acceptable?
I appreciate the feedback. To those whom think I shouldn’t own dogs…. I absolutely love my dogs however I feel a little overwhelmed and that is why I have asked for suggestions. Nicole I don’t appreciate your comments as I love my dog and I spend as much time with him as I do my toddler. He is very well taken care of it is just when I am at work that these things happen. Then I come home having to clean up after his mess or repair blankets because he got bored during the day.
