What is the best way to make a hole in a patio?

I’m building a chain link fence across my property, at one point it crosses a cement patio. What is the best way to make neat holes in the patio without destroying it. One friend told me a jackhammer, and someone else said something about an auger. please help!

Hmm A jackhammer might make a heck of a crack. Do you know how think the patio is? I would take a circle saw with a concrete blade and cut you holes as deep as you can the use the jackhammer
