Ive been researching homes for sale in New Orleans, and I’ve noticed most have a fountain, or other water type lawn decoration in the backyard. Can anyone who knows for sure explain this? I havent seen this anywhere else in the US.

It’s an architectural tradition left over from the Spanish influence in Nerw Orleans. In addition to being decorative and providing a pleasing noise, fountains can also help cool the air – helpful in hot climates.
Each state, culture, community has their own "clique" type things… styles, fads, etc…

Must be that everyone thinks it’s pretty cool to have a fountain in the backyard right now…
